Main park
Our main park is 10 acres with two shelters, and playground equipment for children of all ages. There is also a tennis court, basketball courts, 2 sand volleyball courts, baseball field, softball field, walking paths, plenty of benches and shade trees and new this year a skate park.
The north shelter has attached bathrooms, grills, electricity, and plenty of picnic tables. The south shelter has grills, electricity, picnic tables and garage doors to help keep out the weather.
If you are interested in using either of the shelters we recommend you arrive early to the park. City Hall no longer takes reservations for park shelters. Please

Honoring Our Heroes: Winthrop Veterans Memorial Now Accepting New Names
The City of Winthrop is proud to honor those who have served our nation through the Winthrop Veterans Memorial, located prominently in the heart of our community. This memorial stands as a lasting tribute to the brave men and women who answered the call to serve, whether in times of peace or conflict.
Following a meaningful dedication ceremony during Farm City Fun Fest in 2025, community interest in the memorial has continued to grow. The City is now accepting new name submissions for engraving on the memorial this fall.
Eligibility Requirements:
Names can be added to the memorial if the veteran:
Served honorably in the United States military (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, or Space Force).
Lived in the Winthrop area at any time during their life (this includes current or former residents).
How to Submit a Name:
To be included in the 2025 engraving:
Complete the paper form (available at City Hall or online).
Submit a $200 fee per name to cover engraving and maintenance costs.
